Earthquake under the seat sub question

Ive read quite a few threads and Im still alil confused on how to upgrade this area. I love the sound of my system just want to upgrade the subs under the seat for alil more bass.
So if I go with 8" shallow earthquakes. What are some typical good amps to compliment them?

Also theres a harness that makes it a simple plug n play for easy install right?

Is there anything else other than harness, sub and amp Ill need?

Thanks

If your amp cannot take the high level input, you will need a LOC to covert the stock amp signal to low level ( RCA) then input to your amp. Also if you amp doesn't have the function of auto trigger by the input signal, you will need a signal trigger switch to turn you amp on/off. Otherwise your battery will die as the amp is always on.
If you don't want to cut the wires, you will need the harnes, not cheap though $60. Cut wire can save this $60 but you need some soldering work. I think Technic has the harnes that come with the trigger, search Technic's post or send him a PM.
This is the LOC

thanks for info

also I looked at this pdf describing the different sound systems. I still not sure how to tell if I have Hi-Fi or the L7?

Can you recommend an amp that all I would need is Technics harness? and does it plug right into the amp that's in my trunk?

ok I have a speaker up in the middle by my windshield so Im guessing that means its an L7?
Does that mean things need to be hooked up differently for an extra amp to those subs?

logic 7 has 13 speakers including the tweeters, and as I knew, all after 2008 335 has Logic 7.
Yes, it's different as we cannot take the head unit signals because our Logic 7 is fiber optic. We have to use the speaker level signal. So my previous reply is the only way. Any brand amp will drive the woofer but you'd better check the features and power, at least 70 w 4 ohm per channel. If you really need the brand, I will say JL, JBL, Infinity,Alpine all are good brand. Mcintosh is the best.LOL.

Yes you have logic 7. PM Technic for a harness.

You can use any 2 channel amp. The sws 8's are rated at 130 watts rms so get an amp that puts out around that much power. You'll probably want the SWS-8Xi, they are 2 ohms, and most amps put out their rated power at 2 ohms. Unless you use a 4 channel amp bridged to get 2 channels then you'll want the 4 ohm sws.

I was definitely thinking about that amp at that price. But also looking at the comparable JL and Alpine

So basically I take whatever plug that goes into my amp in trunk and plug it into technics harness then plug it into my amp?
Then run power, neg- and the normal speaker wire to the new subs?

Buy xd400/4.
Bridge both channel and feed them 150-180w for excellent mid - sub bass.
I have them running at 200w with jl xd 600/6 @ 200hz LP.
Those who sit in my car thinks that I have a small sub in the back.

Yep that's basically it. Technics harness adds a loc with the remote wire. And you just use regular speaker wire to it. IMO Rockford Fosgate amps are the best of the 3. It'll definetly do over rated power.

I recently had 2 channels go out on my xd600/6 that I had bridged.

I don't think so - a bridged JL XD series amp needs to have 4 ohm resistance.

In that case, would be right this combination, (I have two amps):

-Alpine PDX F6
2 Channels 2ohm for the SWS8 (2x150rms)
2 Channels 4ohm britged for one Sub (1x300rms)

Is it bad for the amp mix 2 & 4ohm in different Channels ?

-The Xd600/6 Will be for the 6 speakers, front and rears...

Sorry for disturb the post...

Thanks

No it doesn't matter if there are different loads on different channels. Most amps require at least a 4 ohm load bridged.

So the stock Logic 7 amp has insufficient power to run the SWS-8's ??

I'd buy a pair tonight if I knew for sure that the stock amp would be sufficient enough to run the SWS-8's.

(I have a amp & sub in the trunk to handle the low bass duties)

Also.....technically when you bridge the amp......each of the two summed channels "see" a 2 ohm load.......so you'd be running all four channels @ 2 ohms.

You don't want to so that. Keep the stock woofers.
