think i got ripped off

went to a "VERY" reputable shop. perfect reviews...

trunk lid removal, bumper removal, painted, blend with quarter panel, everything installed, detailed.

quoted mid 3k and 5 business days

at this price if i get oem quality i'm fine. but... after a lot of research on here, I think it should only cost half of that price even at reputable shops.

i wont mention shop names and only judge when job is done. think this is a fair price?

3k should get you a decent full car paint job. 5 business days is pretty good turnaround time though. if you're getting the actual bumpers and trunk included in that price, i wouldn't say you got ripped off, but if it's just for paint, you couldve gotten a better deal.

If you asked me you got screwed. If you were doing a custom paint job atleast around here 3k sounds about right, i don't think it should of cost you more then tops 1500 pusing 2k if your getting repairs done...

i got a hood, front bumper, and both front side panels blended with AW paint.
With a full inside and out detail, wax.. and even buffed out a few minor scratches around the car. Came out PERFECT.

350 for hood
350 for bumper
400 to blend both panels

3k - 3.5k is way too much. Install should only be around 50 bucks, or free removal and installation with painting.. especially when youre doing that much work

thanks for the inputs. I will call them out depending on the results. at this price I better not see any imperfections at all or I will complain.

Definitely true.. roommate had black sapphire metallic and it was a bit more, but not an outrageous increase.

OP, to help you out more with your issue.. what color are you getting these items painted?

that is completly incorrect.
there are 8 shades of Alpine White.
It is one of the hardest non-metallic colors to match.
add paint fade into the mix and its near impossible.

If it was Philip Thearle's or West Coast Specialties, I could understand why the quote is that high. How many hours of labor are on the quote?

Correct. In general, white is the toughest color to match. It is a common misconception that white is an easy color to paint match.
