I have an extra BMW ipod Y-cable for sale.
This connects your ipod on one side to both the jacks on the inside of the center console to use your ipod.
45$ shipped in the us. pm me if interested

Sorry if this is a dumb question but why is it necessary to connect both?
I can connect one or the other and it works fine.
Does connecting both give you better sound quality or something?

I am very interested. Does this simply plug into the AUX input in the center console/armrest? Other end is the iPod and push the AUX output on the deck and voila......music???

Always saw the AUX in the armrest but not once have I actually tried to find out how that works

how is this possible, what is the usb male side for? Do you have to get a AC to female USB for the center console?

FWIW - I believe the Audio jack is for audio output, and the USB jack will charge the iPod, hence you plug both in.

But I can plug mine into the AUX hole and play my ipod but it wont control through thr iDrive.
If i plug it into the USB then it charges, controls from the iDrive, and plays just as if it were in the AUX.
So what is the benefit or plugging in both?
