CARMAX salesman killed

Hope not previously posted, but a Corvette test drive ended fatally.
Here's the story http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...223-story.html

Being in sales is tough because it can be very difficult to read the potential customer.

Over subscription of prescription drugs is a massive problem in this country. From using psychotropic drugs on two year old toddlers' to a 90 year old, it is out of control.

FTFY

i'm not saying the big pharma is profiting huge from our consumption of their products, but why do we not put blame on the driver?

It is extremely sad to see how far the human being fallen. How could anything in this post be considered funny. I hope this poor fellow did not leave any kids behind.

I was referring specifically to what the OP wrote about sales and being able to read people. See the verbiage I quoted.

This situation, is of course, a tragedy.

You know.

When I bought my E92 M3 from CarMax. The salesperson sent me out with a trainee.

I did not think it was odd at the time but looking back maybe they were shielding themselves from danger by sending the newbie out with me.

RIP.

Don't want to sound like a bad guy or anything but I always thought those Corvettes in convertible form weren't designed for more than beyond spirited driving.

Reminds me of when I test drove an NSX over ten years ago at an Acura dealership. I did an inspection myself and one tire was flat!

I refused to go more than 5/10 as usual even after it was inflated.

I hope both of them didn't leave any kids behind; different reasons for each.

i own a car dealership and this is why I avoid test drives. people are reckless and degenerates. numerous customers enter my dealership to buy cars under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

I stand corrected. The asshole didn't die.

I will change my statement to: "I hope the driver didn't procreate yet."

Garage List
2010 135i Coupe  [5.26]
I was in the market for a 350Z a few years back and was denied a test drive because someone had rolled one onto its roof during a test drive a few days earlier. I tried to call their bluff but they actually showed me photos of the incident.

I hate being a passenger so I don't know how salespeople do it every day.

Another unfortunate reality most of the time with incidents like this.

Is it normal that a salesman goes along when test driving a car in the US?
Here you just get the keys. Of course there is papers to fill out for ensurance and a copy of drivers license in case you steal it, but if someone crashes the car its ensurance work and police work.

We also dont know if here it's 100% the drivers fault, I mean, the salesman may have let him on a spirited drive. Selling the car in the process. He may have sat there willingly.
Obviously driving under influence is not OK, but the salesman got into the car with him. We dont really know what happened (it's still allegedly).
I see this a bit like that Paul Walker incident, he also didnt drive the car when he died, but was he yelling and summoning the the driver to stop and let him out of the car? I dont think so. At what point is it manslaughter? Is it still when the guy sitting next to the driver has an equally big grinn on his face when speeding?
