Since we don't see any snow (at least not near the SJ area) but we do get the occasional rain, what kind of tires are you using on the street? What are your thoughts/reviews? Let me know!

There are different types of tires. Some are strictly summer tires, some are all seasons.....
To the OP-I use summer tires. Used it for my Evo as well. I just don't drive like a dumbass when it's raining. You will be OK. |

Any all-season or performance tires are fine. I've not had any issues with driving in the rain before (as long as you dont try to defy the laws of physics).

Just wanted to update and let y'all know that I went with the Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R 265/35/18. So far I love the ride quality. The tires stick pretty well. It's been hot as hell these past few weeks so I guess I'll have to wait on rain to see how these tires do. Thanks to those who offered helpful suggestions!

All summer tires are made for rain. People in Cali just don't seem to know how to drive in anything.
I just switched to Toyo T1R, and they felt different than the stock RFTs, a little lazier off center but after a little time they feel fine. |

BTW, I am looking for much better tires in the rain than the stock run-flat RE 050 Bridgestones. I came from Audi S4's (quattro) and these stock tires allow the car to drift in the rain on the highway. I've read a bunch about people saying run-flats are just fine. I'm having a real hard time believing that. Used to have Goodyear GS D3's but they don't make the stock rear size! I want NEW tires that handle!! I live in Florida--its hot, and it rains. And I want the same ride quality i have now, i.e. FIRM. |
