Lol you lot are funny!
I knew about this one a while ago and had a discussion with Mercedes Special products about getting one before I spent all the money having my leather interior done...it's a normal C63 with a matt wrap, a remap and the different interior. However, the DR520 is not offically approved by AMG; in fact, when I mentioned this to AMG in Germany a few weeks ago, they were very unhappy with MB UK for doing this with other suppliers and not going to them do it! With regards to the inside, I saw one at MB World last week and the quality of the re-trim is nowhere near as good as what AMG have done in mine...it has that alcantara dash but, like my car was before it went back to AMG, its only the top of the dash and I prefer my full leather version (well, leather is a nicer product isn't it!). The main thing I don't like is the seats which have been re-trimmed in half alcantara and half leather....but the leather used is much poorer quality compared to fine nappa stuff used in mine, although I do appreciate that I'm extremely biased in this respect! The power upgrade is actually the (still Mercedes-approved) Brabus B63 kit. I too am getting this fitted to mine and was supposed to get this done today by Mercedes in Milton Keynes but I couldn't get off work in time. It's going in to them 3 weeks tomorrow. So, looking at the price of the DR520, it's actually slightly more expensive than the cost of mine even after I've paid for the leather re-trim and Brabus kit. Therefore, even though I don't have the matt wrap (which I also don't like), the DR520 badges and the kudo's of having a 'limited edition', I'm more than happy that I still have a superior example of a C63 - and I get the Brabus badges which have so much more status than a 'DR520' badge |

I agree the dr520 badge is a bit odd, and i can understand AMG being a little pissed off about it. And yours does look more 'Luxurious' and expensive however i love the suede dash, gonna see if i can get it fitted to my ISF. PS have you done any times runs yet??? PPS Matt i love vick and bob, oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowww

Yes, thats what I meant. I sort of see mine as a normal one now...I mean, who would now buy a new C63 without the PPP?
No run times yet but I think I'll be going to Fighting Torque this year and see what it's like on the one mile. It's got a lot to live up to after a very quick 1/4 mile by my old one! |
