E-class service book

I think some people have got E-class Merc's on here and I wonder if they could answer something for me?

My dads just brought a 2010 E250 cdi and it wasn't supplied with a service record book, the salesman told him that they don't have them any more as its all computerised!

Is this true or have they lost it and are just fobbing him off?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reply stevie, I suppose the only way to check its history is to ring Mercedes then?

I believe you can request one though... They basically print out the history.

Crap idea to try and keep you using Mercedes.

Just get a print out from Mercedes and then keep a nice big folder.

I reckon it is very short sighted, for me less of a reason to keep a full main dealer history.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I'll tell him not to worry as the salesman was right!

Still seems a crap idea though!
