Water Pump is toast, cheapest place to get one???

Water pump decided to quit the other night. Think I'm going to attempt a DIY. Dealer is quoting me 580 just for the pump. Also what else is needed aside from the pump itself?

Yes do the tstat as well. you'll also need coolant.

looks like tischer is 390 which is about as cheap as Im going to find it.

If you're really located in Germany, they won't ship international; only to US address.

my water pump looks like its about to fail my fan stays on after the engine warms up.

so im thinking to get replace waterpum and thermostat...

how about the hose? do i need to replace it anways?

No need to replace the hose, although you can. I would have but it was not in stock when I bought the parts.

Try oembmwparts.com just ordered mine from them yesterday. Got the t-stat, pump and coolant for right at $500.

Be very careful, I see a lot of them at that price are the original failure prone part, make sure you are getting the latest part number, if it is the old part even if new, it is worthless.

Does it really mean the pump is about to fail when the water pump stays on after stopping the car? Mine has been doing this for a while. (51k miles with aftermarket warranty)

I'm still under warranty and would prefer not to tow the car to the dealer. I wonder if they would replace it prior to it actually going out?
