Bandimere Time

I know this is a little bit early, but knowing everyone seems busy all the time, I thought I'd post this thread now. Let's plan to go there on April 14, 2012 for the first opening: http://bandimere.com/calendar/index....ate=04/01/2012

So, who wants to go?

1. Alfred
2. Ewelina
3. Matt
4. Rich
5. Carl
6. Vincent
7. Matt (maybe)
8. Stephen
9. David
10. Alex (maybe)
11. Chad (maybe)
12. Chris
13. Scott (maybe)
14. Craig (maybe)
15. Charlie
16. Andrew and the crew
17. Sid
18....

PLAN: Leave the Sunoco gas station in Arvada at 7:00 A.M. (???) to get to Bandimere as early as possible. (Remember: Gate is open at 9:00 A.M.) Here is the address for the gas station: 6301 Ralston Road, Arvada, CO 80002 US

People coming from up north, if you want to caravan to the gas station in Arvada, let's meet at Startbucks (5180 B West 120th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80020) at 6:45 A.M. (???)

So I've never gone, but I'm definitely interested in going this year. A few questions for those who have been before:

1. How many runs do you normally get in?

2. How long are you there for that number of runs?

3. Do you need a helmet for a stock 335? I think there are typically different requirements for how fast your car is.

4. Can other people ride along? If so, is there an age limit?

TIA.

I'll try to be there. It's killing me waiting to make some baseline runs before I make any hardware mods.

Awesome, Matt!

The weather should still be nice, guys. Take the advantage of it!

Matt, sorry I didn't get in touch with you last week. I still need your help with the settings. I figured out the interface though. I'm hoping to get in touch with you after I get new plugs, before bandimere.

Rich,

1. The opening day, you get 2 guaranteed runs. (During t&t nights, you can run your car as many times as you want until they close.)
2. Again, for the opening day, the last two we went (e90post members), we were there until 2-3 P.M., and we got there EARLY morning (6 P.M. I think)
3. You'd need a helmet if you run 13.99 or faster. I've personally only seen one stock 335 run 13.xx
4. You can have someone ride along IF your car is not too fast (12.99 or faster i think?)

Hope you come!

Thanks Alfred - I'm going to try and make this happen. I have my helmet from auto crossing, so I'll probably bring it along, but I doubt my skills will get me below 14s

How many folks from E90post typically go on opening day?

^ The first time I went, two years ago, we had quite a few people. Last year, I think we only had 5 or so. Also, yeah, just bring your helmet with you. You never know if you need it

I believe the limit for passengers is the same as helmets at 13.99. But it's been about 5 years since I was there, so the rules may have changed. It used to be you needed a roll bar at 11.99 and now it's 11.49 so I know at least something has changed since I've been there.

I will not be taking a helmet and nothing would make me happier than to have to stop running due to the lack of a helmet.

...unless I buy a Cobb before then and flash to something non-stock while I'm there, in which case I better take one :-).

It may have changed. I'm almost sure you still can have a passanger. You should get it tuned. You'd be much happier!

Happy wife, happy life!

Any other tips for a newb? I'll have my summer tires back on. Since I'm a step, I'll brake torque at the launch. Clearly I'll take the car seats out and any other easily removable weight. Less than a quarter tank of gas? Or do we do a lot of idling between runs (to cool the turbos, etc) where I may want more?

104 octane. Is what I suggest. AAI speed in Arvada sells it. FYI

Interesting, even for a bone stock 335?

Thanks for the tip!

Higher octane always is good. However on stock not as much impact. Just allows for less timing to be pulled by the dme in less than ideal conditions.

I had logs from the v4 days when auto tuning was turned on. Man on 91 octane the boost and timing would either stay level or drop based on conditions. When I had nearly all 104 in the tank the boost increased and timing dropouts were non-existent (outside of the 4300 rpm Vanos shift).

I'm a firm believer, hence everyone's use and love for methanol injection.

Sweet - makes sense and certainly couldn't hurt. I'll be coming from the Springs, so Arvada is a bit out of the way, but I'll see what I can find down South.

Have you run your S4 yet? It is a DCT right? A coworker has a S4 DCT and it is a beast.
