If they do it, you'll probably over pay by maybe 25%....considering they dont specialize in tires, I'd go to a reputable tire place.

I've heard the dealer over-charge is closer to 100 percent. I've seen people write that they spent $2,400 at the dealer. It's around $1,000 at TireRack (wheels and rims). Add another $200 or so for a local discount place.
Iif you go with just tires, you save about $90/wheel but you have to pay every spring and winter to have them swapped (I spent about $50 each tiime for this service). The only thing to watch out for if you go with a local tire store is to make sure you know which brands you want. Local stores may not have a good variety. Dunlop and Bridgestone are good. Watch out for new no-name Chinese brands. At the very least, see what TireRack is offering (use the link above). Good tires are worth it in terms of handling and noise (bad tires=noisy driving)

I'm getting mine through the dealer (have an appointment for Friday). The set is about €100 more expensive than a tyre shop, but that's because BMW is supplying runflats. The tyre shop wasn't getting them in until January (which is kind of pointless). For €100 I couldn't be bothered hunting around. Then again, this is in Germany. For you folks in NA, your mileage may vary. Just call up your dealer. Doesn't hurt to ask.

The substantially higher dealer cost in Canada (at least here in Montreal) is not due to 100% markups on the tire. In fact the dealer was quoting me about the same for the tires as anyone esle. It is the mags, OEM mags is where both BMW and the dealer make their profit. They are bloody expensive.

In Toronto, two dealers quoted $1800 for runflat snows on steel rims, $2800 for run flat snows on aluminum rims (I think the same as the 323i).
