I went with a combination of A&B with my ast.

Since the front end of the xi weighs more, I thought the 392 would be better. But since I planned on doing additional rear end work, I went with a lower spring rate. Now after getting the m3 bushings and rear sway my car feels extremely neutral with the settings on 3 and 3.

Im not sure if I'm crazy but my car feels like it rides smoother on 3 and 3 instead of 1 and 1.

Ive never really set them at 1. Hmmm. I think I am at 4 and 6, then go to 8/10 at the track.I may try 3/3 n the street.

I just tried 3 front and 4 rear and the car felt a little light in the steering for me.

It may also have something to do with the snow tires i just put on. I think they're better than my conti dsw. The Michelin P3 or something, I'm curious how they'll actually do in the snow though.

Harold @HP autowerks just told me that 4100 is no longer available but, the 4150 will be the new improved model coming out. He also mentioned that there were some reports of bounciness with spring rates 392F/784R by some users. What u guys think?? Is it too stiff and bouncy? He suggests 336F 672R for daily driver/ track.

No bounciness here but as knowledgeable as Harold is, I think he recommends the same spring rates regardless if the car is awd or rwd.

The weight makes a slight difference and the potential for future mods. I went with the 392 up front because of the increased weight towards the front of the car from the awd. Then went with a 672 rear because I planned on doing some m3 parts which would sure up the rear even more.

Overall, now that I've been tweaking this for awhile, I find the ride amazing with these spring rates.

I just don't like that the same spring rates are told to us awd guys that are typically more oriented for the rwd platform.

^I agree.

The shop I use highly discourages rear spring rates over 700ish for single adjustable coilovers for the reason Harold mentioned. Due to the nature of the rear suspension geometry, it kinda puts you in a tough position. I'm running 450/700 based on their advice.

However, the different nature of how the AWD and RWD models put down power requires a slightly different look at how the suspension is to be set up. Not much, but a little.

Gotta admit, I'm jealous whenever a new model comes out of something I already have! lol. Maybe I can get harold to send me a 4150 sticker to appease my appetite because it obviously can't be a huge difference from my 4100s.

The money up front might seem like a lot but if you plan on having the car for 3-5 years, that extra 500-1000 for the ASTs will pay for itself in no time in terms of enjoyment. Also, if you plan on unmodding your car when you sell it, you'll probably recoup 300-600 of that additional money.

Its worth every penny. Hopefully you dont have to wait 4 months like we did when the first started making the ASTs for the xi.

I did not get camber plates because I dont plan on tracking the car. Also, I dont like the additional sound and issues that "might" result from them.

Unfortunately, we were not told about the strut tower issue when purchasing the ASTs. Us first few guinea pigs had to find this out and at first I just used about 5 washers on each side to raise the stock strut bar. Eventually, I just took it off because it was making sounds.

After about 3 months I got the m3 strut. Car felt more precise after the install but maybe because I went from no strut bar to one. I just couldn't see myself not finishing things off properly after all the money spent.

Actually I emailed them today. I'm waiting for a quote with ~400/700 swift springs. From what I see there's not much waiting time for them like AST's.
