Are my rotors OK?

OK, so I just took my car in for service today for a brake fluid flush, scope, replace and reprogram HPFP under recall. I told the SA to not worry about the front rotors (I was planning on fixing myself later). I measured them when I changed my pads myself and they were below minimum thickness.

However, when I picked up my car, they said the rotors looked fine. Do I really not need to replace my rotors? I thought when they were below the thickness stamped on the rotor and they have grooves, they need to be replaced.

BMW pads last a long time and have soft rotors so they tend to really wear the rotor since the pad is on there so long. You can change your rotors later but they probably want last through another set of pads.

I would recommend you change your rotors as it is past the minimal thickness. Brakes are a heat bank and they require mass to store that heat and use it as braking force.
