If you guys take the outer loop (Over the Woodrow Willson bridge) that would be awesome. That way I can still work my convoy and hook up with you guys around exit 7 or 9....Let me know your thoughts.

I would recommend scratching college park and meeting at one of the rest stops off of 95N.

I don't think it would be a problem. I think we should start one thread and call it the official Bimmerfest convoy thread..... I'ts starting to pia to check both of these threads....LOL

I can almost guarantee that most of the caravans will end up consolidating into 1 big one. there's an 'official Bimmerfest' caravan on every single BMW forum.

the rest stops are too small for that. we've been meeting at CP ikea for a bunch of meets over the years and it can handle any size crowds, as long as someone doesn't act like an idiot and start peeling out and revving their engines.

I was suggesting it primarily for us MD guys who are more to the north who would be heading south in order to caravan north. I was thinking of the Maryland House in particular since it has two decently sized lots. It is not Ikea large though. If we are expecting that kind of turnout, it probably would be best to meet there then.

I'd say IKEA or the Toyrus in Rockville.

I'd also throw in a vote for a Rockville area stop. I am coming from Frederick so all the way to College Park would be a haul, but Rockville area wouldn't be bad.

Do you think we need to meet earlier? Bimmerfest does start at 10am. You know with the multiple stops we are having that's going to consume time.

Honestly I think we need to play for alot ealier time. Theres almost 1300 cars registered. I think we need to plan like meeting at 6am rolling out to Ikea by 630-645. Get to Ikea by like 730ish and roll out about 8 am from there if not ealier. The later we get there the longer the lines are going to be. If you've ever seen the videos for bimmerfest on the west coast you know it can take hours just to get into the event.

ding ding ding!!!!

winner winner chicken dinner!!!

the lines will be long if you get there late and there's only 1 LONG road into the parking lot. you guys should plan to arrive there by 9am; better to wait for the gates to open than wait in that long as line and get in at 12p noon.

glad i'll be there early

Rockville is the 1st stop for us MD guys. According to the current plan, we then caravan to College Park and then caravan back up to Aberdeen.

I also vote for heading up earlier.

Tysons 6am -> Rockville 7am -> College Park 8am -> White Marsh 9am -> Aberdeen 10am

this should be the leaving time and main caravan for everyone as each site picks up the next in line. having done this many times, you need to start rounding people up to leave each location 15 mins before the posted time
