just make sure you replace it with the same battery, or same cranking amps.

I changed my battery a few months ago with an Interstate battery.

Product ID: MTP-48/H6
Amps: 965
Cranking Amps: 965
Cold Cranking Amps: 770
Voltage: 12
Pro-rata Warranty: 85
Weight: 40.8
Width: 6.89
Length: 10.94
Height: 7.48

Here is a DIY on how to change out the battery:

I didn't register my battery. If I have to I'll take it to a local BMW specialist. Make sure the amps are about the same as the stock BMW battery.
