The 6MT G35 has more HP than the automatic version.
One of our members has an e90 (I don't recall which version) and his wife has a G35. |

hey i've raced my friend's 4door auto g35..mine is a 325i though and honestly i should have lost! we raced on a highway and i won because at every curve, i increased my speed a little bit whereas he slowed down..his car was lowered and even so he told me he wouldnt dare to speed up on curves..he admits that the 3series have better handling and i admit that g35 is a more powerful car..i would have lost miserably if it was a straight line race though, he always managed to catch up whenever there's a long stretch...since u've a 330, i think u'll have a higher chance of winning
but i think a 325i is no match for a g35 especially the coupe!! |

i raced a 6 speed manual. the other night. i took his ass 4 times before he finally pulled up next to me at a light and said "Nice car, quick as hell, but i just couldnt do it"
Raced him 2 times off a light had him by 1 car length the first time cause i spun a bit. 2nd time i had an awsome launch at 4K rpm with barely any spin that got me 2 cars on him. Then we did a 2nd gear pull at 40 MPH - 90MPH also took him, then i slowed down to about 70, i could tell he got pissed. Downshifts, i hear the loud roar of that sexy exhuast of his with a puff a black smoke. took me less then .2 seconds to react before i was in 3rd also and pulling on him till about 120. If you got a stick and you know how to drive. Against an auto youll beat it. One day my aunt was talkin smack in her automatic G35 coupe about my moms 330xi. and that her car is faster. I was like hmm.. so i took my moms car and we jumped all in and drove down the street to a vacant road. the 330xi vs her auto where pretty much even. Then my bro opened up his mouth and said my 330 would tear her up lol (I raced my dad when he drove the 330xi off the line to like 100mph) No contest, so i knew i was going to eat up the auto G35. Well she didnt beleive it so we drove up the street back home got my car went back down. and i killed her. LOL Lot of that shit goes on here people in there Cars tryin to race and shit. So far i have beat the G35, Slighly on the Is350 but i would call that about dead even, beat a 350z i got semi spanked by a STi off a light, whooped on a Mustang GT which was modded a bit. I posted vids somewhere i have to find the link. Ohh and i got killed by a 996 Turbo lol i just raced it for fun, beat a 04 6 speed 330Ci ZHP (not by much). Ohh and distroyed my Girl friends MINI cooper S lmao. If u know hot to drive dont worry, if u can drive ull beatem.. Post a vid if u can. Ill be workin on a vid with my 330 vs IS350 as soon as my girl can get one of the Techs over at lexus to come out one day for a comparo (she works at lexus) good luck, stay safe and have fun.

What do you think about this combo. 3.64 Diff Full Exhuast Intake Chip (when it comes out) Maybe some colder spark plugs Some headers if someone decides to invent some and maybe an underdrive pully I wanna test all the Above before that Turbo kit hits the market.

[QUOTE=Narbeh Davidian]Just wondering if any of you 330 owners have raced a G35 Coupe before (automatic). My friend has one and badly wants to race me, I was hoping to see what kind of outcome I should expect from this race. This has been a major feud for the past few months, anyone have any experience with these cars, pointers?

i didn't race it but i drove them side by side with 330i and i'll tell you, you can definitely feel more power in the G35, no question about that. i would not race that car on a straight line unless i placed a bet against me.

my best friend has a G35 coupe (automatic) and we have raced in my 330 (auto) probably 100 times. We have done dead stops, and started at every speed from 5-90. In all honesty his car is simply faster. I can probably win 1/4 of the races because it all depends who spins more. The g35 can really throw out the rear end. Through the corners though, its no contest id take my car any day. The g35 seems to have to much tourque for the corners or maybe its just not a great handler in general, but those back tires never stay in place.
as much as i hate to admit it.... g35 is faster, so you should probably expect to lose

What kind of race track are you taking the race?
It's probably going to be a straight standstill race on a road all the way our neighborhood where we could easily go from 0-85. Not a track, but we figure it's safe enough since not many cars are up there especially late at night. I know he hes gonna have some tricks up his sleeve, anybody used Octane Booster before? Recommendations for that extra edge? Gotta get this one for the e90 guys! |
