BMW OEM Performance Intake Filter Maintenance
Hi I hope this isn't a duplicate question, I tried to search the forum for answers
My question is, for the OEM BMW Performance Intake, is the filter meant to be replaced or is it cleanable? If its a cleanable filter do I just hose it down with water? *Hug* |

Cleanable. Purchase a K & N Recharge kit. If you like you can replace it though. You should also clean your MAF sensor more often since the perf intake filter is an oiled one.

It is, it comes wrapped in plastic to keep the oil contained. My hands got pretty slippery after I installed it in my filter box. Link below has more info

Just pick up some cleaner like Benzo pointed out. There's some DIY vids on YouTube too, just search 'E90 BMW MAF how to clean' or something similar, very straightforward. Hardest part is taking the sensor out!
