I've been searching for a private reg for a while now.
Came across 2 I like, both quite similar.

W666LSA
W666LSY

My name is andy wells and my old nickname was wellsy.
Haven't taken the plunge yet but may do in the future

Thanks guys.
Sorry for the delayed response as I was very busy on other projects.

If I buy 5 digits plate, can I play with the space...
Example, if the number is

AB CDE

And I am thinking of changing the space to

ABCD E

Does that make it illegal?

Thanks.

No it won't be legal mate you will have to space as per the norm.

Many people mess with spacings, if police in your area have nothing better to do they may pull you over. and give you a warning. i know people who have had there own spacing for 2, 3 years and never been stopped. a work colleague had his new TT in for an MOT at Audi. he had dodgy spacing and AUDI said its fine as long as its readable. they passed MOT no problem

Where as my misses failed her MOT as the spacing wasnt correct. Had to buy new plates with the right spacing.

Seems that to the letter of the law spacing must be correct but is often overlooked if the lettering and sizing is correct.

Id say get the spacing as u want it and just have a spare set of correctly spaced plates just incase

That is exactly what I planned.
Still searching for a decent plate with 'SAM', S4M, S9M at a decent price.

Font and plate sizing is usually gets you pulled over. As mentioned, as long as it is clearly readable there is not usually much trouble.

Guys
I am getting a chance to buy a plate which is
_X06 SAM
for £500.

It is 7 digit plate? Is it worth of buying?

Or

There is a plate which is
S8M _ _

and that is for £400 but 5 digits plate.

Only you can know if it's worth buying. Some people love private plates whilst others think they're a complete waste of cash.

Incorrect spaced plates / misplaced screws in my opinion looks wank.

Looks like you are a cheapskate and couldn't afford the proper plate

My private plate cost me £100

Means nothing to me although it does start with a J for jason and the last 3 digits are EGO which fit well on a BMW

Totally agree, it's chavvy.

The DVLA can actually confiscate the plate as well.

What are your intials? Can't you get something with S4 M** in it?

My surname is Maddix, I have M444 DXX which was the closest I could get!

That's pretty cool, my surname is maddox

Just found a perfect plate for me W111 MDX

Does it have to spell out your first name? What about your initials? I was bought S21 AEB for my 21st birthday. (Andrew Edward Beardon) Think it was around £300.

I have B6 WEP the first two are insignificant but I like the way they sit a bit like 86 from a distance B1 would have been better so it looked like 81 the year I was born but that was a an amount of cash I couldn't justify on a plate. The last 3 are my initials got it from DVLA for £399 all ready to fit
