cargym? your experience?

hey guys. i just wanted to know your experience with cargym and their service.

im not sure if this is the norm for hong kong parts stores but here is my situation.

earlier in the month i had interest in purchasing an m tech kit and did some research. i ended up visiting cargym in tkw and decided to purchase the kit but ended up putting a deposit on a e93 cf lip trunk spoiler. the reason i purchased it from them was because they promised me it would be here in 2 weeks. i had to put.down the deposit on the 9th of july and i had called them right on the two week deadline and was told that it was gonna take till friday. called them friday, they told me there would be a shipment on monday and that my lip spoiler would most likely arrive then. i then waited today, the aforementioned monday and called to ask where it was and the guy apologized and said i have to wait 2 more weeks or call back every 2-3 days... now the question is that "are all hong kong suppliers like this?" and should i have just ordered it from some other shop and get my deposit back? it seems to me that they forgot my order somehow...

overall bad experience.. bought parts from the states numerous times from hpa, turner and getbmwparts and all of them were most helpful. should i lower my expectations for hong kong suppliers?

sorry for that huge blob of grammatical errors and punctuation errors. im typing on my phone, so pardon me.

Update: Does anybody have any legal advice on what i should do? i keep calling and they just keep stalling. Their new excuse is that they're checking the warehouse, for 4 hours.... Put me on hold 2-3 times 5 mins each. The guys didn't know they forgot to put on mute on one of the sessions. They were just chatting about phone bills and how nobody wanted to answer me on the phone. They then just hang up after 5 mins. These guys are are shady F**ks.

I had that problem with them last time. Just get the deposit back... They called me another month later that the thing I ordered arrive and asked me if I want to purchase again. Lol

Not all are like this...

i guess i'll give them two more days and if they insist on giving me the go around then i'll definately get my deposit back. They're pretty horrible though if they do that. Harriz do you have any recommendations on where to get parts aside from topmix?

I ordered my CF hood from them earlier this year. Originally the time frame I was given was 3 weeks... but close to the 3 week deadline they called and said it would be delayed due to "Factory problems".

They asked if I wanted a refund or to continue. I continued to wait and in the end it took almost 6 weeks to arrive if I remember correctly.

Personally if you ask me... I think cargym is generally reliable, but I think they're suppliers aren't very punctual.

I personally had a terrible experience with them, but I'm too lazy to type the whole thing out here.

I had to file a small claims case against them, but we eventually got the issue sorted after Ronno realized I actually followed through with my threat. I would recommend going elsewhere if possible. They just don't get the whole customer service thing.

damn, seems like i should have done more research prior to putting a deposit down =( Thanks alot for the suggestion and sharing of your experiences... I guess its just unreasonable to expect a proper duty of care that you would typically find from the states.

somebody had told me that their fitment is horrible. I was reluctant to try with 3 of the 3 people telling me they had fitment issues.

To be fair... as long as you're not going OEM and buying a replica part... there will always be fitments issues to some degree... All body kits need adjusting except OEM.

Okay these guys are totally full of shit. Same old run around story. "It should be here in the afternoon but most likely it'll be here in 2-3 days" its like i'm stuck in a bootloop when i talk to them. If its going to take 4 weeks, tell me its going to take 4 weeks. I hate it when people lie to make a little money... Its been a total of 4+ weeks now, still nothing...
"Ronno, said it'll be here thursday so it will be here thursday" Guess what, "It should be here in the afternoon, maybe you should wait another 2-3 days?"

My recommendation "Never again"

Just tell them give you a final date or full refund. Then keep that email... If they don't refund... You know what to do...

u just wonder where they sourced their stuff from..it's probably like they don't have what you want in stock and are waiting for it to come.

well i bought something way smaller before, just some angel eye rings for e46s a while ago.. they tend to blow up from time to time but they were happy to replace me with new ones, sure they made heaps out of those.

i have no idea, they had told me "made out of real Carbon fiber." when i recieved it, it was a carbon overlay on some fiberglass material... paid a shitload for it too. They seriously don't get the concept of "customer service", they tell me to call back 2-3 days, when they are the ones that are late on my product... Also i had gotten a body shop to see if they can fit it on properlly, they said the fitment is horrible and that because it was cheap fiberglass, they couldn't sand it down. So i'm pretty mad at the price i paid and what i had gotten in return.

Tell them it doesn't fit and must refund. I had tail lights from them and didn't fit... Since they didn't have extra stock they gave me full refund.

+1. Dude, return the item and get your money back. What spoiler is it exactly?

If you need to start a claim against them, i still have all their info from the company registry. Their website says that they guarantee 100% fitment. They are tied into the "sale by description" clause of the sales of goods ordinance, which means they are obligated to return you money if the item is not as described.
