service light reset HELP!!!!!

hello lads,

followed (incorrectly) the service light reset instructions on here, managed to reset a rear brake inspection light.
Now both brake warning lights are showing the pads as requiring replacement, aswell as a red warning light on the main dash display.
local indie garage says both sets will have to be replaced to enable the lights to reset!!!!
any ideas??????????????????

It won't let you reset brakes for obvious reasons. You will need to replace at least sensors on front and rear.

Are the sensors expensive?

I changed them on May-June when I replaced all my brake pads and I bought them from ebay for less than 10 pounds each (you will need one for the front axle and one for the rear axle). the ones I bought are made from Meyle (German products) which has a fair/ good name in cars' spare parts. you could give a try on ebay too
