coil spring install HELP!!!

i have my car on jack stands and the driver side rear spring installed. i went to the right side and the bolt for the inner swingarm will not clear the exhaust. is removing the exhaust the only way to get this done?

There are two bolts one close to the wheel and one close to the middle of the car ...
on my 328 I removed the one closer to the wheel ..

If I remember correctly, when I did mine I removed the ones by the wheel, probably for that very reason

+1 - Yes, you have to remove a couple of exhaust hanger bolts to allow for removal of the swing arm bolts. Not a big deal.

Maybe you misunderstood me, I didn't touch any exhaust hangers... I just removed the suspension arm bolts by the wheel, not the ones by the exhaust

What was the outcome? You remove the exhaust hangers or did you unbolt the wheel side vs. the swingarm/body?

No need to touch exhaust hangers... just remove the arm bolt by the wheel and you're good...easy, and use a jack to ease compression.
