It's been good; leaving bmw for a while
Sup guys,
It's been fun in the past few years with the E90, E92 and E82 (328s and 128), but it's time to move on. I might come back to the 3 series in the future, but right now need something a little bigger than that. I have always like BMWs, but the 335 which was supposedly my upgrade back in 06 from 330Ci, sort of fell apart because of the HPFP problems. I still see many enthusiasts who don't mind the problem, but that's just a personal choice. Anyway, take care guys. I might come back in a couple of years |

Don't come back in a couple of years, you can drive that car forever, it's such a major expenditure as is any German...good luck.
interesting it's a right-hand drive in Canada....j/k |

I loved the Top Gear where they were just dogging on the panamera, made me lols a lot.
It's a neat car, but who really needs that many flipping gauges and buttons? You're going to end up rear ending someone when you try to look at your fuel level.

It is a strange look, if you take off the nose, it's like an Oldsmobile Aurora as far as the doors go. Some people don't care about looks (they're few and far between). The XKR-S, XJ Supersport, these cars look great. There's something for everyone.

I've driven one at my Porsche dealership and was amazed at how perfectly it drives and handles. There's a nice white one that parks next to me at the train station sometimes, and it dwarfs my 335. I forget it is such a big car because when I drove it, it sure didn't handle like a big car.
Good luck with it.

The Panamera is a nice status car/cruiser...its flashy and unique. Obviously it out handles and performs the 335i...but its price tag also outhandles the 335!!! Its at least double the price if not more. The 335i is much more involving to ride but is wayyyyyyyyyyyy less refined/smooth than the Panamera...it simply doesn't have that subtle class that the Panny has. But for that half hour when you feel like zipping around in a go-kart...the 335 feels much more nimble and agile than the Panamera. One thing: Once you drive a Panamera...you cannot stand the steering of the 3-series; Our Panamera with WINTER tires (pirelli sotto zero i think) outhandles my 335i with all seasons and the Panamera's steering is much more responsive, the turn-in is IMMEDIATE...like a razor almost; you tell the wheel to turn right and the car's nose immediately goes right; in comparison the 335i has lag in its turn-in (relatively speaking) -- and this is with the Porsche on winters. (getting michelin super sport next week for the 335i). THe steering in the Porsche is THAT good...that is the biggest difference: the accuracy of the steering. BMW is almost sloppy compared to Porsche. Nice choice of car, I obviously like Big price difference though, hard to compare the cars; huge price gap! Most of the people hating on the Panamera are jealous/haven't driven one on an extended test drive. Its a refined car...once you drive it, you won't ever buy a single BMW again. You're gonna want a Ferrari or 911 and the Panamera/Cayenne for grocery shopping. Porsche >>> BMW. There is only Ferrari, maybe Lambo after Porsche in terms of refinement/driving dynamics. Aston for looks/posing. Thats just about the top of the totem pole, short of going Italian exotic. Last edited by TheRox; 04-15-2011 at 06:22 PM.. |
