Bloody idrive!

Why does it have to be so damn annoying?
I wish my car didn't have it, then I could just fit an after market double din headunit and be done with it.

I'm considering a CIC conversion, but can't find any for sale in the UK, I refuse to spend big money and pray it arrives from some dodgy eastern Europe country!

Rant over

I suspect that the irritations your finding with the early iDrive is exactly why they changed it!

^^^
He had advertised few bits and bobs on this forum as well. Found him on this forum just to sell his stuff.
7/8 threads are for sale. Nothing wrong with it, but tells you a lot about somebody.

And I had a car where I had to correct / code something and that car was coded by him. I know he has friends on this forum (obvious from above threads) and they'll be telling him about my comment, however I felt I should warn others.

A LOT quicker both in navigating around the option and the system calculating routes etc. Everything is done off HDD (with no doubt more powerfull processors) rather than relying upon navigation disks.

You could always goto a dealer and have a play with the new system.

CCC and CIC are chalk and cheese. The latest CIC is very quick and very intuitive.

It's worlds apart, I've had mine retrofitted by a company in Huddersfield called petervandeer BMW specialist, think it the best mod I've done and well worth the money.

I don't find the CCC too slow over all, but I only use the sat nav maybe once a month at the most.
What frustrates me the most is how many hurdles and the cost of adding things are in comparison to the double din Alpine I had in my RS4

Yeah the down sides to the double din RSN-e units in the Audi's is they get nicked! At least the BMW system is part of the car....

Few months back I bough a complete set from user lemans 330d, even dashboard. Had another guy install + code and I think it was the most valuable mod I have done. You won't regret!

I'd love CIC, but looking into the prices I can't really afford it
