I think BMW has achieved exactly what they were striving for. They managed to facelift the car, make tangible improvements on a few things, without creating an indisputably better looking car. People are going to argue from now until the car is totally redesigned about which car looks better with no side being the clear winner. This is already evident in the posts on this thread.

This is a well done facelift, and other car companies should learn from BMW. As ugly as the 3 series sedan is (according to some people on this forum) BMW has managed to sell a f*ck ton of them. Since it is not a total redesign, all they needed to do was tweak a few things to create the illusion of newness to buyers, which will keep then ahead of their competitors in sales, and actually help them increase their margins by charging a premium for the "new/latest and greatest" car.

Things I like about the appearance:
- I like the head lights and tail lights because of the LEDs.
- I like how the angel eyes light up as DRLs

Things I don’t like about the appearance:
- I don't like the X5 looking hood. SUV styling cues should stay on SUVs.
- I don't like the lower portion of the front bumper. I think it is too wavy and busy.

I think both cars look good, but if I could put those headlights and taillights on my car, the result would be my ultimate looking E90.

Just wanted to put that out there. That PS is NICE, but I doubt we'll see LCI Blacklines introduced, I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time...

PS LCI e46 owner here, love my pre-face lifted e90's, but the LCI is where its at. Now, c'mon BMW, bring us an e90 ZHP!!
Lamin-x is a cost effective way to not have to replace the tail lights

I think audi's are more prone to this (total redesigns every few years) I think BMW does a good job making subtle changes that don't make prefacelift owners jealous

My e46 is prefacelift and I honestly like the look more (than the facelift e46)

Nah, pre-facelift owners shouldn't feel this way. I don't feel insecure about rolling by or next to an e90. Most in my area are completely stock 325i's or 328i's, but still...

I had the choice, lease a loaded `06 330i, or purchase my loaded e46 ZHP. I do not regret the decision, and I especially do not regret it since the 335i was announced a few months after I made that purchase decision. I would have been FLOORED had I just signed a 3 year lease on a nearly 50k car and the engine was upgraded a few short months later...

no, by far not every one in germany has a BMW or Audi. This are high-priced premium cars, just like it is all around the world. You have to take into account that the pictures were taken in munich, where BMW and a lot of money are at home.

But, look:
The blue preFL E91 in one of the pictures is a BMW-owned car from Dingolfing-Plant.
The black preFL E90 in the other pictures is a BMW-owned car from Munich-Plant/Headquarters.
You can see that from the letters and numbers on the licence plate.

So of course, there are a lot more BMWs on the roads of Southern Bavaria than otherwhere.
Additionally, we get all the European leasing-returns pressed into the market at rather low price - just at the moment, BMW is selling at about 10-15 thousand (fleet-)cars from 1-7series 6-24 months old, mostly from 4-50 thousand km driven, for prices 30-60% below the regular price. And not to forget the employees, that can buy cars ~22% below regular or lease them rather cheap, what again results in a cheaper second-hand market than in other regions around the world. But that not even resembles the status in whole germany - that's just for Southern Bavaria. So it doesn't effect the worldwide prices at all.
So if you want to buy a cheap BMW and are not looking for new one or _exactly_ your configuration, come to Southern Bavaria, to the home of BMW and take one with you ;-)

Think it has to be the same e.g. in Detroit...

^ you have to be kidding me, you see some type of resemblance there?

The back of both cars have red taillights (as do all) and white reverse lights (as do all), thats the only resemblance I see...

lol? no doubt IT IS a US-Version! Look at the front fender here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1216985472 and take into account that it had red flickering rear-flashlights (europeans have yellow flickering rear-flashlights).
