Finally got my E91

After the best part of a year looking (on and off), I have finally taken the leap from 5 to 3.

Oddly, the dog doesn't seem impressed!

Ahh ha. The technology is just too much . . .

Initial impressions after 100-odd miles of driving, mostly in traffic:

Quiet, comfortable, (not something I thought I'd say about a 3). Seats are better than the 5er. Steering heavy-ish (compared to the 5er) Fairly responsive, although the Auto takes the edge off it a bit. 2004 5 series iDrive is miles better and simpler to use than 2009 3 series iDrive. 39mpg so far, which is on a par with the 5er, so I'm pleased with that, although no doubt I will get it lower on occasions Godawful dark inside with the roof panel closed. As a bonus, my wife likes it, but the steering will be too heavy for her!

I like a lot. I wouldn’t change a thing on that, spec looks perfect.

The facelift front end has made a huge difference to the 3 ser. Fresh and modern and a quite tough looking.

Lovely looking car mate. I do like the tourer and you have the best engine too!!

My dog would love a 335d touring!

I have many happy memories of the dog sliding from side to side in the back of my E46 Touring's when driven enthusiatically. He's been used to the footwell of the 5er for the past 5 years, where he can brace himself - usually with his head wedged between the seat side and the speaker. He's still prone to leaping into the boot whenever the opportunity arose, so he's back to the back now - and content, even if he doesn't look it!

Just got to sell the 5er now, and get some space back on my drive!
