Alpina is overpriced garbage. I have no clue how they landed a deal with BMW to sell their junk in the stealerships.

I'm not crazy about the colour displayed in the photos (never liked the Kermit-like green), but the rims are great, would love to get my hands on these.

Same for the brakes, I wonder which manufacturer they're from. Maybe Brembo? But then, the Brembo 380mm BBK does not fit under the standard Alpina rims (I tried). Maybe the forged alloys are larger, though.

FYI, Alpina uses the N54 engine with a flash tuning in their B3 S. Also, the transmission software is remapped, changes gears twice as fast as the normal AT and holds the gear that is selected.

Their aerodynamic kits (front / rear spoiler, although probably not that huge wing displayed here) have been extensively tested in air tunnels and produce excellent results (better than the standard M3, by the way).

Everything I've seen says the Alpina cars ride more nicely than a standard BMW sport suspension, but offer handling that is comparable to an M. They also have a wider power band & automatic transmissions that are more suited towards daily driving compared to the traditional M car which were optimized for high RPM performance. I think that they've complemented M cars nicely while offering production integrated with BMW.

Remember that's the Euro times, without the NA rollout.

From the sponsor stickers, KW and Eibach Springs. So they pulled the springs off the V3's and slapped Eibach's on?

And what's Mahle's sticker on there for. AFAIK, the Alpina motor is just a tuned N54, no internal work. Wasn't there some debate a while ago as to who made the N54 pistons?

I'm disappointed that it's not actually a GT3 spec race car.. that would have been awesome!

This however, well... I still like it, I've always liked some of the odd colour combo's Alpina have featured, but the car itself is not bonkers enough to live up to the paint job. If they'd have worked some Alpina magic on the M3 (like the E30 B6S), then that could have been cool...

Would I buy one, yes... would I spec it with the wrap... yes

Also, I love the Alpina B6 GT3, after which this has been styled...

Not sure about that color. The car styling lacks aggressiveness to pull off such an "exposing" color.

Some technical specs are interesting though.

Alpina sells some great variants of BMWs placed over the top of normal production versions, but somehow much more adressed to DD than high rev M models...
There is a market for such fantastic cars and for sure they are very exclusive

The Alpina B3 / B3 S have always had low compression pistons by Mahle. Nothing new there. And that's the only real hardware difference to the standard N54 engine used in the 335i / 335iS.

The B3 S also features different primary catalysts, a secondary cats delete and a modified air intake. These - along with the flash tune - explains the difference in power compared to the standard 335i.

i like the wing design.
could be little bigger and wider.
a mini version of the Alpina B6 GT3 wing would of been awesome.
and step lip / multi spoke face wheel would've been sik.
