You need to use NCSexpert to read the radio file.

You need to use NCSexpert to read the radio file, to see
what its already programmed to .
Then adjust those parameters.
What are the options that your car has that go through or
are effected by the Radio.
Do you have L7 or Hi FI or neither?
Do you have PDC , BMW SOS , USB , Bluetooth phone?

I would just try the radio first.
The coding information is in the coding subforum.

You need to to a VIN Check

You need to to a VIN Check .
There are many free BMW vin checkers on line
they will list your options.
Do you have the phone symbol when you press the menu
button if you do you have bluetooth phone.

Get familiar with your coding setup by doing something
simple like programming the kefob to shut the windows
as a check you are doing things correctly .

Unfortunately some of the downloads in files above no longer exist.
would have been easier to change the screen.

Inpa ebidas and ncsexpert come in a software package you use
to be able to download them easily they are not huge files.
I bought them with my cable but you may have to update the
daten files . ebay has it sometimes but I would do an Internet wide
search.

Go to bmwcoders.com or the coding subforum here for more info.

Depending on the year you might not be able to code it with ncs expert. After you get ncs expert working(read the stickies in the coding section) try the following to reset the headunit based on the vo.

1. Load NCSExpert.
2. Load Profile and select Expertmode
3. F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA)
4. F3 (ZCS/FA f .ECU)
5. Choose E89 (for the E9X)
6. Select CAS
7. F6 (BACK)
8. F4 (Process ECU)
9. Select the Module you want to Revert back to Stock. (2urad)
10. F2->Choose "SG_Codieren->ok
11. F3->to start coding the ecu with factory settings according to the vehicle VO.

Its not that bad if it works the first time.

To be good with NCSexpert does require some study
but there are a lot of canned procedures now.

OK I'm pretty technical I should be able to figure it out with some help.. BTW I checked the vin and below is all I can find in the list that refers to the radio. I do have the phone symbols on my deck and the steering wheel but I can't add a phone for the life of me. I followed the instructions on the youtube no dice may its broken on the old deck.

S663A Radio BMW Professional Radio BMW Professional

All the cars have the buttons on the steering wheel .
(it doesn't mean they have bluetooth phone though)
If you press menu on the radio it should display a phone symbol in addition
to tuner and cd if it doesn't you don't have bluetooth phone.
Do you have the radio manual and the phone manual ? Also there is ytube videos on how to pair
a phone . On the phone end you have to have the phone in the discoverable
mode for other devices to detect it. It pretty much like pairing a headset.

The bluetooth manual is the second link down.
