M3 Rear Subframe Bushing Install Quick Question
About to install new M3 rear subframe bushings. I have my sub-frame loose and freshly painted and now is time to press in the new bushings:
1) Do they need to be aligned inside the subframe at a specific angle? The front bushings have a marker (circle) which looks like it could mean something. Further confusing me each bushing has an orange spray mark. The mark is on opposites sides of the bushing making me believe there could a be driver side and passenger side bushing. The Bentley manual says the following for the standard bushings "Alight new rubber mount by way of arrow to front of vehicle" The picture does no good and I don't have the old bushings to use as a reference. 2) I feel the right type lubricant for the install is important. Bently references Circolight anti-friction agent. I just can't find it locally. I read people saying any type of anti-seize would be fine which I think can't be right because you want something that will eventually evaporate. Would personal lubricant be a good alternative just to press the new bushing in as it is water based?? Other options? Please help! Last edited by Volasko; 05-02-2015 at 09:27 AM.. |

Google m3 complete subframe take off and see evay results
That may give you how to align m3 bushings. Will it be horizontal or vertical based on markings I suspect the front bushings have a direction while the rear does not
