I have more than enough bandwidth to give out accounts on an individual basis as well as throw up a torrent.

Just PM me ...
Thank you for this. If only we could find someone with a E90 2006-2 disc!

Thanks for that Bitstream.
I swapped from the Official BitTorrent client to µTorrent & my download speed has just jumped from 5kB/s to 220kB/s!

Nice work.

We got my nephew's 550i about six weeks ago at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, Ca, and it had the 2006-2 disk in it.

My 330 is at the port in Oxnard and I ordered delivery next week. I've told them to make sure it has the 2006-2 disk or I won't accept it.

Since my nephew's 550 was manufactured in January or February, my 330 made on April 10th should have it too.

Also, I would think that it's the VDC that has the disks and that they don't get placed in the cars in Germany.

The North American Nav DVD's usually include Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico too.

So, you should be fine on Hawaii if you get the US DVD.

I believe you are correct that the DVDs are NOT shipped with the cars (my ED 330i didn't have a disk when we picked it up in Munich).

But, I think it's the dealers who provide the DVDs. So, you end up with whatever they have in stock. At least that's why I got stuck with 2004-2 for a September 2005 delivery.

If you get 2006-2, do you intend to seed an image of it somewhere?

Nav DVDs are put in the car at the VDC, not at the dealer. The dealer may swap them from one car to the next, but they do not supply them.

That's what I figured.

So, if you get a newly produced car, but get an old DVD, it is very possible someone at the dealership decided to give the newer disk to someone and figured you'd never notice.

I put my salespeople on notice a month ago that they were to make sure I got the 2006-2 disk with the car. And, I'll insist on it upon delivery.

If not with the car, I will get an OWE YOU slip with it listed on it. Dealers here in California have a I OWE YOU piece of paper that you sign on delivery saying if they owe you anything. Usually, it says NOTHING. So, you can insist that it be listed here.

You will make a lot of us very happy if you seed the image.

FYI...I was easily able to burn a copy of 2004.2 after using Nero to create a .ISO format image of the DVD. If you decide to seed 2006.2, I hope you will create a widely-useful image, and not stuff like Nero proprietary .nrg format or the .img format that usually requires Alcohol 120%.

For those who just recently picked up their cars and got a 2005.2 disc like myself, I have some good news. Spoke with someone at BMWNA, and she told me to call my dealer, parts dept. and tell them I have a 2006, which I just picked up in April, and it should have come with a 2006.2 dics. I then called my dealer, like she told me too, and he said I was right on the line of them phasing out the 2005.2 discs. He didnt see an affective date as when to stop using them, so he said to talk to my Sales guy, and get him to authorize a switch. So Im hoping my good repour with salesguy and my repeat business will aid in him switching this out for me.
Keep your fingers crossed.

Hey, I have a "2006," too.

I tried this. The sales guy never returned my call. I hope it goes better for you.

Ok guys, here we go again!

Found someone who is generous enough to rip the image and send it to me. Should have it completed in 15 hours or so. Once it's done I'll test it to make sure it's working and then we'll work on spreading it.

I'm thinking the best way is to allow ftp access to ~5 members who will then share via torrent. Let me know what you think ...

Just burned and tested the disc - so far so good. All of POIs are working too which I think was the problem with previous images.

Torrent file is attached or you can grab it from - http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/75...6_2_Navteq_DVD

Going to be slow in the beginning but a few people are grabbing it from me right now so there should be a few seeders online hopefully by this evening.
