RFT vs 19s
I saw someone here just upgraded to non RFTs and said the ride quality was soo much better.
I am getting new wheels in the spring, and was going to go with 18s because of how rough the ride quality was, i didnt want to make it worse with 19s (less rubber). So, my question is... how is my stock 18 RFTs vs non RFT 19s? could i actually see improvement? Or at least not a setup that is worse?

There are tons of posts on this if you search around, but IMO, there is a pretty noticeable difference between RFT and nonRFT. The RFTs are really stiff and harsh. I went from OEM 17" run flats to 19" non RFT, and it's subjective, but I felt like there wasn't really much difference. In the beginning, it felt like it was possibly even a little more forgiving on the 19s without the brick RFTs. Now that I've had them for while, it feels a little more harsh, which may just be that I expected the 19s to have a rough ride and it wasn't as bad as I thought, so I was initially pretty relieved.
Keep in mind, however, I'm on stock XI suspension and bottom line for me is that it's definitely livable to step up to 19s if you ditch the run flats. I wouldn't say comfortable, and you have to dodge potholes diligently, but it's not bad. I think 18s with nonRFTs would be a great balance. |

I am debating the same thing. i got 17inch runflats and am thinking to go to 19" non runflats for summer. I guess if its about the same then it should be okay. i am also upgrading my suspension to kw v1s as my current suspension is gone to the shitter. i think the oil has all leaked out and am running on air. you hear a loud hissing noise over any small bump and the car bottoms out on any slight bump.
ill post back once i get my 19s on but it might be next spring. |

From experience I can say 18"RFT is much worse than 19"nonRFT. But, my winter setup is 18"nonRFT, very smooth, handles bumps in corners way better than 19"
