To the OP: I have also seen several dealerships here in SoCal where the E90/E92 328i are optioned to nearly $50K. Which dealership did you go to? If the ones you saw was a E93 328i, I wouldn't be surprised. But if it was a E90/E92 328i, then I can see why it is shocking to be price nearly $50K.
If i didn't get military pricing, after taxes mine would be close to 50k, but mine is also xi and coupe

Yea i couldve bought a 335i with less options, or a porshe w/o options or mb even. But quite honestly I wanted something fully loaded, and I'm not a fan of FI, still not. You have to keep in mind not everyone wants HP, if i wanted HP so bad i would go with other cars.

My new 2009 328i coupe was 44k and it wasn't even fully loaded. The only options I got were auto, premium, ipod, and sport.

I just ordered a 335 and it cost me 37K...The only option i choose was comfort access...I was choosing between a loaded 328 or a bare 335 and went with the turbos and dont regret it at all..my dealer sold me the car for 39.5k and with 2500 holiday cash it cost 37k...got a really good deal...I do regret not gettin premiuim or sport but ill live with it...will get aftermarket suspension for my next project...If u have the money to put 10k in packages on a car that starts at 40k, go for it but in my opinion id rather use that money for rims, alpine tv/gps, exhaust, intake mods and bodykit
