what is this symbol on the screen?

ok, I am running a tune 2 air, to stream on my 2010 335. it is connected VIA the Y cable in the arm rest.
upper right hand corner there is the symbol that is for the cable connection I believe. but next to it is a #3 sometimes it changes to a 2
what is the number for?
also, is it possible to get Spotify to show music info on the screen with Spotify? (will Pandora?)

I am using a Note 4, the steering wheel controls work and everything, but this is all I get to display.
