Steam works well for engine clean up if your don't want to use chemicals.

Sorry guys, I said brake cleaner cuz I saw my mechanic use it to clean up oil drips after an oil change. I should keep my mouth shut next time.

Just use diluted Simple Green or Purple power in a spray bottle, spray around and agitate with a brush to degrease. Rinse with another spray bottle or light spray from a hose (don't blast it or let water flow in the engine bay) and then dress it back up with 303 Aerospace.

Need to degrease my vehicles as well and am leaning towards Chemical Guys AllClean+ and Silk Shine Dressing (water based). The dilution ratio of AllClean+ makes it a bang for you buck.
Has anyone used any of these CG products? I've seen a good number of mixed reviews on various forums.

Why not just use something proven, cheap, and easy to find like Purple Power or Simple Green? Diluted per their instructions they don't represent any danger to engine components.
Regardless which you use, the key to really getting it clean is agitating with a relatively stiff brush. |
