It is also not only about peak power, the new IC pulls noticeable better on high RPM's where important extra speed is built.
I know, I have stated this in a couple of my recent posts on the IC posts. Do you have a reading of your water temps? How much of your IC(%) do you think is exposed to ambient air(not being blocked by the bumper)? This is one of the main reasons I will be getting the M3 front bumper in the spring.

I highly doubt the larger intercooler blocking the radiator will have any effect on water temps.

Why? If its blocking the radiator then how does ample airflow get to the radiator?

A lot of the IC frontal area is obscured by the bumper but the incoming air moves around and will reach much more of the IC than can be seen from the outside. The thermal resistance of aluminium is also low, which helps to distribute the cooling effect over the core.

The ambient temperature has not been real high yet with the new IC in so I don't know if and how much the water and oil temp will go up at extreme conditions. The oil temperature looks good so far. I'm now running on pure water and Water Wetter so I don't expect the water temperature to be higher than it was with a smaller IC and 50% anti-freeze. Time will tell when the warm season starts here in just 6 month's

There is still plenty of airflow that reaches and goes through the radiator...it's not like the IC is a wall that air doesn't penetrate. Also, as others have said, the part of the radiator that will be blocked is already blocked by the bumper, so it's really not changing anything.
