[DFW] Hail Damage On New Car - Annoyed!

Dallas/DFW Area:

So the hail storm on Wednesday apparently affected my car under the carport. I was fairly sure it had been saved, but the hail coming in at an angle got the trunk and back bumper. I have already filed a claim through Geico, and I go on Monday to meet with the adjuster.

Does anyone know any good body repair shops that do solid work? Also, a friend said that sometimes you can find a solid body shop that will absorb the cost of your deductible so it doesn't cost you anything out of pocket by rolling it into their estimate. Not a big deal for me since the deductible is only $500, but that would be a great perk. Mainly, I just want a good body shop that I can trust and has a track record of excellent work. This is very annoying because the car is new and up until this point in perfect condition!

Thanks guys.

Since I want to make sure the body shop does a top notch job, I'd be willing to drive to Arlington. What's the name of the shop?

Quite a few people have. They are often recommended (although I have no personal experience with them).

If my car is not totaled by Allstate I'll be taking it to Trade Secret in Plano.

Cool story bro: I talked to the owner today and he said there's a Maserati in their shop right now with over $40,000 in hail damage

My damage is mainly on the trunk and bumper. From looking at both body parts, I don't see how they'll be able to pop the dents back out of it. I imagine they'll need to replace both. I speak with an adjuster today and then off to find a good body shop! I'm going to call and speak to the ones listed here after I speak with the adjuster so I don't do a lot of driving around.

I might give him a call too. Trade Secret has a long waiting list and I find out tomorrow whether my baby is totaled or fixable I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Those details guys were dicks when I called. Kept telling me that my m3 rep bumper sucked and that they wouldn't paint it when/if I brought it in.

Well, I guess I should say not "those details guys" rather THAT one that I spoke to.

Go To Trade Secret and ask for Anthony Bond. You won't be disappointed. And there is a reason why there is a waiting list. Along with the R10's, bentleys, and Maserati in their parking lot. tell him Steve sent you.

Yep. Trade Secret was my first call after the insurance claim was filed. I'm dealing directly with the owner, Tom. They also come very highly recommended by the guys at COBB, for what it's worth. They get my business for customer service alone -- seriously great people to deal with. Worth the wait.

I know most of you have probably already taken care of your hail damage, but I work for a shop that can repair hail damage at NO COST to you. We deal with your insurance and have them pay for the repair, and WE WILL PAY YOUR DEDUCTIBLE. Also, if your policy doesn't include rental coverage, we also will take care of a rental car for you, so the repair truly won't cost you a penny. Call me, Fallon, at Dent Mechanix for details. (423) 930-7457 I'll come to you and do free pickup and delivery. We're local to the DFW area and have two shops here to serve you.

Oh, yes, let me add that it is PDR technique (paintless dent repair), so we never use bondo or filler, and won't sand or repaint the vehicle. In fact, if your car still has a paint warranty on it, the warranty will remain intact. Our staff has between 13 and 22 years experience and do a job that is the best in the area. We have thousands of satisfied customers.
