Brake lights wrapped in matte smoke vinyl with pics
Hey guys I've finally got around to wrapping the brake lights in matte smoke vinyl and it was actually rather challenging to say the least. The small spotlight are easy but the big ones were very hard. To make it even worse the Mrs kept burning my fingers with the hair dryer
The film is about a 20% reduction in light which isn't that bad. I myself love the look of it but it may not be to other peoples tastes. Cost was £7 delivered for two sheets of film + my time approx two hours. Lights are surprisingly very easy to remove. In the last pic I know there is a light not wrapped, it was dark by the time I had finished this one. Last edited by andy9188; 12-23-2012 at 02:40 PM.. |

Tbh I really don't like it. If I'm honest, I think it looks either a bit chaved or that your lights are filthy!
Sorry!

IMO I dont like it, maybe as said pictures dont do it justice but it just looks to dark for my liking. I have too thought about tinting the lights but a very light subtle tint but never got round to it.
But at end of the day each to our own I say and if you like it etc :-) |

to be honest...i quite like it! its different and rather than going for a standard smoke...the matt adds a new depth to it!
are you tinting the front lights too? i went for subtle smoke laminX on my fronts! really happy with the results!

Thought the reflector had to be left clear for it to be road legal, or is that just for the MOT test?
Quite like it, at least it is something a bit different.

Yes I want to go for a really light smoke on the front just to darken it up a bit. Have you got pics of your lights I'd like to see it

I'd have gone for a lighter tint myself but it doesn't look bad actually.
On a side note, can't help noticing your car has come from my nearest BMW dealer which is Wood in Salisbury |
