The scammer will send you a check for say $1000 for a $250 product. They ask you to refund $500 and keep the $250 as "service fee". It is a fraudulent certified check, so when it is deposited into your a/c, it becomes immediately available. Then, you will proceed to refund the extra money that he sends you. 2 weeks later, the check will bounce and the bank will deduct that money from your a/c, so you are out both your product and the money.

well in that case, if you guys do not want to be scammed by cheque systems, tell them that you will hold the products till the check clears into your account and will not send the product till it clears, if they do not like that idea tell them to open up a paypal account and send it that way..

Actually its really not that simple, its a form of money laundering and you can end up in court facing fines and jail time even though you had "no idea" this was a scam..
