DSS halfshaft for AT cars
Hi brothers
I got some news for you all. I been on mail with DSS , and they agree to make parts to get upgrades for AT halfshafts too. Requirements are 10 customers/orders and a set of halfshafts to work on (used will do) PM me mail and I will add to list How to make this work ? We get 10 interested people , we find a set of used halfshafts and share the cost of these. Then DSS will start the work on making upgraded halfshafts for us too. 30$ each then plus shipping to DSS , then they start working on them. When we provide 10 interested customers that is.
I asked to make sure that used halfshafts will do , but Im certain it will do. And asking also if these will be priced as halfshafts for the MT cars.

Its two sizes on these , one that are for MT , the ones that DSS currently is selling. And the other size that is for AT cars , that we are working to get them to put into production.

Wow... Well, I WAS planning on buying them. I prepaid my shop to get them sent in. That’s really strange that they didn’t say that they were nonexistent.
I also se the price dropped. What would the price be for ten of us? |

I need PMs with mail , when we reach 10 or more , you will be informed.
Again , we need from salvage yard a set of used halfshaft from a AT car. These should cost around 300$ for a set , get these shipped to DSS along with 10+ people and we are on the move to get upgraded halfshafts. I on my part are living in Norway , DSS is in the US , so for me to buy halfshafts to ship overseas is no point , I could volunteer to pay the 300$ if that set of halfshafts can be used to build my upgraded set. As with the DSS upgraded halfshafts , they will need your old halfshafts or from salvage yard , just as they do with the MT upgraded ones. Sammy ! You up for the task on hunting down one more set of halfshafts ? Or did you clean out all the halfshafts in your region already ? Or better yet , if they could use a set of broken ones , will have to ask. Im off to work offshore , will check in from time to time Later

At my current power levels combined with driving habits, I don't have a huge need for the upgraded half shafts, but thank you for prodding DSS to move on this for us AT folks. I hope they consider making AT shafts a normal production piece, because once I do go with stg2 turbos, these will be much needed. One would think demand would be on the rise as more and more 6AT guys start gunning for north of 500whp. So thanks for driving on this guys.

Yeah , we can use broken ones as cores Good news for many here , but we need one complete set intact , not broken to do the initial measuring before production.

Update!
From what I can tell on realoem , builds after 9/2007 have same size halfshafts both MT and AT , prior to this they had different size if Im right. Can someone please investigate this ? Im off to bed , leaving for work offshore .....

So , a lot of information have been passed lately , good flow of information , and the mystery seems to have been solved.
Our cars can use both AT and MT. AT halfshafts made pre 9/2007 is 35mm and MT is 38mm After 9/2007 both AT and MT have 38mm So for us with AT cars , we need to send MT halfshafts as cores or AT halfshafts if produced after 9/2007. Broken halfshafts can be sent as cores too. Contact DSS if in doubt. Im still waiting on confirmation , if AT cars built pre 9/2007 can also us DSS MT upgrades.
