Holding redline on auto...
Is there any possible tune, or computer module of some sort that lets us n55 335i drivers hold gear throughout the range? I know it's not good to be bouncing of the rev limiter, but for an occasional donut or burnout it's annoying that it shifts into second... Third... Fourth..

the button is called "kick down" and what it does it downshifts you, he won't be able to hold gear as far as I know. I have the trans flash and I don't think I can ethier.. you can achieve a good burnout anyway tho

No. It's a mechatronic command but no one can read/write to it, so it's irrelevant. The Alpina engineers obviously didn't feel a need to alter the OE logic on that.
In all seriousness, the below are your bottom line options 1. Keep it as is and deal 2. Swap to a GM4l6 or something, fab work for days, standalone TCU 3. DCT swap (IDK if that holds redline either though, I would doubt it) 4. 6MT swap and ride the redline all day But seriously outside of hooning, there is no reason to be near redline in an N55. Especially not at N55, now that I think about it. The twin scroll is out of breath at least 1K revs earlier. Same basic story on the 54, little baby turbos can't flow upstairs Hooning is fun though, I get it

Interesting point though 135pats, would 335is owners happen to know if their DCT holds redline in manual mode? |
