Wondering why BMW hasn't come out with a big brake kit
For the 2011 335 E92/E93.
Hell they have em for the 328...I don't see what the hang up is- the 19"s that were on my 328 fit just fine- they even have an M sport big brake kit for the F30s already! I just don't get it.... |

I've read the 335i brakes already perform just as well if not better than the BMW P BBK or 135i brakes.

They just aren't pretty, was thinking about pulling mine and having them painted / powder coated as I don't want to spend ~6k for a BBK.

Oh I hear ya man... I just hate the unsightly rust effects on the rotor hub/ calipers. Figured if I'm gonna get a color, may as well go big!

The E90 328 bbk is a 335 kit that's powder coated. The 135 has 6 piston front calipers, but the rotor diameter is smaller than the 335 is.

^ no, the N52 BBK is a 6 piston caliper like the 135i brakes. 335 brakes are a single piston caliper.
The N52 BBK also has a smaller rotor diameter than the 335.

The brakes on the 335i are fine unless you race. I think the brass caliper bushings will work on these brakes. I swapped the guides on my e36 M3. The factory bushing is rubber and allows flex. The brass guides hold the caliper true so you don't get uneven pad wear.
Unless you are going for the bling factor, a set of rotors from the Z4 with aluminum hats and better guide bushings and pads is the most reasonable upgrade. |

Hate that rust as well. Just had my hats painted black and it made a huge difference as they were covered in rust. It is disappointing BMW didn't put a little more effort into the aesthetics of the calipers on such a nice car.

The stock 335i brakes are great; they are bigger than the BMW Performance BBK for the 328/330 as noted (which are the stock 135i brakes).
All you need for track duty is upgraded fluid. OEM pads work OK. I have Motul fluid and Goodrich SS lines, have yet to have an issue on the track. When my rotors wear out I will likely do the Z4 rotors as mentioned above, they are quite reasonable. And yes the 335i brakes are ugly, ugly, ugly. I am thinking about painting mine dark grey to hide them.

I don't think so, the 330i has different brakes than the 335i to my knowledge. To clarify I'm talking about the Z4 35is rotors that would be a direct swap for the stock 335i ones. Not just any Z4 rotors.

Yes the Z4 2 piece drilled rotors are the same size as the 335i...Direct swap. A couple people have done it with reviews.
