Dealer says that the frame is fine. That's a relief.


They also said the tire was fine. That, I find much harder to believe. Should I try to get them to replace it?

Why? They would sell you(insurance company) one gladly if it was bad. You're worrying way too much about this. Car will be fine.

No potholes in Michigan? They are everywhere up here. They get you mostly at night .

I lived in Michigan for a few months last year. The roads were bad and were always under construction but, I don't remember there being any large pot holes. Just lots of bumps and grooves.

But, 335BBS has the right idea. I hit this one in the dead of night, in a rural area, where there were no lights on the highway. The impact was large enough for me to consider it a collision. Parts were destroyed, after all.

No, I carry a $1000 deductible so i would still have to pay $1800. Plus every claim I've made against my insuranse companies in the past caused my premium to eventually go up. I sawllowed the bitter pill this time and came out of pocket.
