Any NY dealership I spoke to said they only offer loaner cars if you purchased the car from their dealership. It's a hike to go to Jersey for service

3 year lease/15k miles
2011 335i Coupe
6-speed MT
Alpine White
Coral Red Interior
M-Sport Package
Premium Package
Navigation

money factor: .00135 (i think, it could be off)
Residual value: 57%
Initial drive off: ~$2184
Monthly payments:~$701 (after tax)

Does that sound about right? or can I do better?

The guy I spoke to has a good rep on this forum and bimmerfest for not messing around and giving pretty much the best price from the get-go but I obviously still want to do my research and make sure I'm getting the best deal I can get.
OK..without the MSRP and the Purchase Price (Adjusted Cap Cost) it is very difficult to quickly run numbers for you. If you can get the MSRP and what they are selling the car to you for, then you will get a response. At first glance, it looks high and you could do better.

Interesting. So what happens if you lived in Florida and brought your car there. Then you move to New York. They won't give you a loaner if you get service done? I didn't know. I would check with BMW NA to make sure I'm not getting jerked around.

Anyway, the NJ dealership is 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge.

I find it so odd that a BMW dealerships would not treat everyone who brings their car into their store with the up most professionalism seeing that a large majority of the dealership revenue comes from service dept. Crazy. We take in all bmw no matter where they are purchased, instead of being upset that they didn't purchase from us we feel flattered that they continue to take their vehicle to us for service.

It's probably a new York thing. But most or all of the dealerships I've been to in new York are like that. Even my previous 3 cars that I owned Cadillac, jeep, Acura all had to be purchased from that dealer to get a loaner. Remember that NY is largely populated and what do these dealers have 50-100 loaners? If they gave a loaner to anyone they wouldn't have any for their customers to purchased from them. That's my thought. Any other new Yorkers out there can confirm this with me ?

Another thing to take into account does BMW corporate ever state in warranty or maintenance that a loner is offered? This is usually a dealer incentive to buy from them because 2 BMW dealerships in NY don't even offer loaners

My guess is that the cost of doing business is higher in NY, particularly around NYC, so they really can't compete against the lower prices out of state. If everybody went for the lowest price and they didn't set an artificial restraint like "unless you buy from us, no loaner", they'd go out of business Or they're just being shortsighted asses.

I work for Competitoin Infiniti in Smithtown. I know atleast for Infiniti we MUST give loaners to all customers because they are technically provided by IFS and not the dealership. I am calling BS on that one.

Using your numbers I get a payment of $638.73 plus tax. Your payment and drive off seam within a reasonable range to me. Drive off is first month lease payment, bank fee, doc fee, tire fees ect.

If it were me, I would try to reduce the CAP fee a to $48K, look at the drive off fees (doc fees are negotiable, but bank fee of $725 is not) and if you wanted to lower your payment, look at Multiple Security Deposits (MSD's) to reduce your money factor/ interest rate and roll all your drive offs into the lease.

If that is too much work, then your deal in my opinion is reasonable Have fun driving. That is a sweet set up.

When I was a young kid out of college, I signed up for something that I regretted and paid way too much for a car. I happen to love BMW's and as long as you know what numbers you are looking and understand leasing, you can feel good about signing on the dotted line and negotiate a good deal. This board is great resource.

Some of the key things that helped me is understanding the MF, depreciation, and how multiple security deposits can be your friend to reduce the monthly payment.

MF x 2400 = interest rate. Go to this website for the monthly Money Factor and Depeciation as published by BMW Finance.
http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/2...-january-2011/
MSD's Lower Interest Rate by .0007 (they are refundable at the end of the lease). You can put down a maximum of 7 MSD's for a total MF reduction of .00049 x 2400 = 1.176%

MSDs are calculated by your monthly lease payment rounded up to the nearest 50 bucks. In your case your MSD's would be $700 each or $4,900. Again, refundable. In your example, if you put down 7 MSD's it would look like this:

Base MF = .00135
Less .00049
New MF = .00086 (or 2.064% Interest rate).
New Payment:$600.41 plus tax which is $38.75/month less. So if tying up $4,900 for 3 years to save $1,395 is worth it, your call.

To calculate your lease payment, go to this website and plug in your numbers:
http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

GOLFFRR on this post quoted me right away and came in at a great price. I am in Seattle but you are pretty close to him. You may want to PM him and see what he can do. I was impressed.

If you need help, PM me and I can help you with MSD's or? Good luck! Let us know what you do.
