hmm... Fossil or Rolex.... they both tell me the time... do I really need to pay more money for the extra "bling" ? I guess if I have the extra money, then sure. Does this mean Rolex is going to tell me the time better than the lesser Fossil? probably not.

Not sure how factual you can be with a personal opinion post?? The VRSFs didn't work well on my car, there were fitment problems + there was no viable solution. I switched to Akra's & have no problems with them.

But it seemed as if most people on here give them excellent reviews. Its ashame you had those issues.
It's completely possible that I got a lemon set of DPs. They just didn't fit well in my car. It's not like the DPs are made in a cast mold, so there will be some deviation from one DP to the next. This is only natural, but my bad experience shouldn't prevent someone from giving VRSF a chance.

lol as long as you install them correctly there is a small chance you will have a problem... did mine on my back with car on jackstands and still had no issues with rattle/fitment.

OT: your car looks fucking sick man haha let's trade

Thanks man..

I've been putting off the install for a while now. I'm getting closer so I'm trying to read up on everything I can. You read threads like these and it gets me wondering if it's even worth the risk. I can't deal with rattles/fitment issues.

Like I said, find someone who is REALLY comfortable with working on things like this... because when you get down there some things can become frustrating and its not hard to mess something up if you don't have patience.

but as long as you install it correctly the chances of rattles/fitment issues is low. My friend and I did it right the first time and have never had a real issue. Same goes for any DP install.

Shouldn't be hard finding a qualified mechanic do the install if you don't feel comfortable or someone that can rescue you if you get in over your head. I had a BMW Service Foreman do the install for all my mods & the only person I'd trust more than him is Hans over in Munich

Haha, talk about coincidence....all I can do is LMAO

I just got word today with pics (will post these up late with my CP-E review) the "short" CP-E downpipe was 1/4 of an inch short from the midpipe and the O2 sensor housing was off by a degree as it would cause the sensor to hit the firewall.

RENNtech was able to fix it though by cutting and extending the end of the pipe where it meets the midpipe and also changing the degree angle of the sensor housing. Wow, good thing my tuner has susperb craftsmanship in this field

The Long DP was rubbing against the subframe. Some minor modifcations to the DP or the frame was made so they would not make contact.

I have never heard of anyone running into issues like this. I think the 335iS has a slighter different setup from the non IS N54's.

However, let it be noted, we are talking about installation on a 335iS not a 335i.

For the record, this is the first time BuraQ has admitted to be wrong. Hell has officially frozen over.

i find it funny that your posting how vrsf were horrible, but yet when you sold them you said they were great but you got another set as a gift or something?

so what do we trust? your for sale ad or you now bashing them?

They were horrible for my car, fitment was the biggest problem (and it's completely possible I got a lemon set). Performance was fine, but every time I turned left there was subframe rubbing. I was relieved when I got my Akra DPs as a gift from my family b/c I knew I was getting a significantly higher quality product. Akra is a more respected brand not only within the BMW community, but other Euros.

When I sold my DPs, 1 of the o2 sensor was stripped (build quality flaw) & the o2 bung thread was destroyed. I got in touch with Tiago & he replaced my damaged DP (great customer service). AND like any good decent human being, I did right by the buyer & didn't mail him a damaged DP.

My $.02: from a performance perspective, the VRSF DPs work just as any other 3" DP on the market (cP-e, AR, etc), but you're getting what you pay for. After my experience, I will no longer buy VRSF products & will stick to more established brands, even if that means paying a higher fee.

Don't be sore loser that the DPs sold before you could grab them

We're going in circles, but I'll reiterate what I explained to you. For whatever reason, the VRSF's did not fit my E90 well. It's more than likely I received a lemon DP, which was replaced with a brand new DP from Tiago for the buyer.

After seeing the quality of materials & the difference between the VRSF + Akras (there's over a $1,000 price difference between the two), I don't see how anyone could defend how the VRSFs aren't cheap

bingo.

a pipe is a pipe... dont give a fuck if your pipes cost 3-4x as much and is plated with gold... every manufacturer has the possibility of having flaws with their product... just because you pay more doesn't mean it's always going to be better.
