Wheel Paint Code (again)

Somewhere in one of these posts, it was suggested that the paint code for my 2009 335 style 189 and 193 wheels was Wheel Silver, code 144. A paint vendor insists that it should be Titanium Silver, code 354. Unbelievably, two BMW dealers I called claim that they have no way of identifying the paint code on their wheels. They don't even carry the touch up kits so that I can try to match them to the wheels. Has anyone sorted this out?

Thanks

There is no official paint code. My wheel guy makes his own formula and most wheel refinishers have their own mix they sell to franchises. The 189 wheel has it's own shade of silver.

Thanks - I think what I'll do is take a chance that the code 144 touch up kit will match the paint on the 193 wheels as some have said, and see how far off it is on the 189 wheels. Seems crazy to offer similar, but not quite the same silver on various wheels offered during the same model years. No wonder the dealers are clueless.

It will always be off because the metalic flake will settle flat as the paint dries compared to sprayed where the flake stays at the top vertical.

Good point - I won't expect perfection.

Thanks

Murphyrg, did you end up trying the 144? How'd it come out?

From what I've seen before, the normal silver is Reflex Silver and the dark silver/gunmetal color is Ferric Grey.
