a friend of mine has a slight issue with his 2008 320d m sport convertible

when roof is in lowered position and he goes to close it the hood cover opens but then nothing,... the roof doesnt go up or anything
after switching car of and back on it works

checked code on OBC and its CC ID 447
Also did a quick google search and found a thread where it suggests lubricating the moving parts...tried that aswell.

Anyone had a similar issue with their hard top sticking whilst trying to open or close it...and what was the problem
