Hey guys,
I'm looking for advice on my next mod on my 09 e90 335i xdrive. I want to spend around $400 total. Current mods are jb4, dci, stett cp, forge dvs, and 7" fmic. Here are the options

-tires for deep dish 18" bbs rep wheels. They will look tons better than stock, but afraid without a drop, it would look ridiculous.
-VRSF dps (looking to do install myself). This would allow me to also knock out my mmp inlet install.
-m3 rep or m-sport front bumper because oem looks tame imho

I personally feel you should get the engine work out of the way first and then go for the looks, want that engine running how you want it and smooth before there's any need to flash up the car visually.

That's usually the direction I take. The choice would be a lot easier if the e90 oem didn't look so tame

Dp's and some lowering springs and spacers to push your stock wheels flush.

Nothing wrong with looking tame while not actually being tame.

It can be more fun having it as a 'sleeper' of sorts, since a lot of people presume that a car with upgraded exterior will likely have some engine work done as well.

I de-badged my 335i and only have DCI, CP, Forge DVs and MHD Stage 1 and I get 328i's revving me because they don't know or don't pay attention to the exhaust. I just smirk and take off in the most grandma-esque fashion imaginable - standard drive, hands at 10 and 2 and purposefully exaggerating while checking my mirrors... it's become quite fun really.

Like prodigymix said, I personally love being FBO and having a completely stock, debadged exterior. I'd go DPs.

Also, how would you buy tires for $400 lol?

I'd always suggest you make certain the core is solid, then go extra power and looks. How are your plugs, coils, injectors and intake valves?? If anything is questionable, it may make sense to do that stuff first. Then, downpipes and inlets as you suggest appear to show great gains.

Tires, wheels and bumpers, etc can follow..

Bottom line, preventative maintenance allows you to have fun when you have the funds!!

Enjoy!

Plugs and coils are new, need a walnut blast though. Contemplating having someone do it or doing it myself. It'll give me an excuse to buy some tools lol

Walnut blasting is a bitch but really helps the response of the engine. I'd drill out the plastic vaccum line on the intake, and replace with the metal barb. Cheap mod and lets you run bigger vacuum lines.

Never heard of this mod. Now I'm curious. Is there a thread on it?
