climate control dials in unison/?

just wondering if there is a way to make the temp. control on the drivers side operate BOTH sides. I used to drive an Accord and the drivers side would control both sides until the passenger side was moved, thus initiating dual climate control. In the BMW, I have to turn both of the knobs to get them at a similar temp. Can I change something to make them work together? Thanks for any feedback.

Just swap out your climate control unit from a 2011 or newer model unit - they swapped the 'REST' function for 'ALL' which does what you are describing.

I can confirm that it's an easy direct swap and works with no problems in my 2006 325xi.

It's not worth it for $350, but keep an eye on eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/11-2011-BMW-...#ht_2989wt_980), and you can flip your old unit.

+1, I did this same exact thing. I bought a Dynavin unit for my 2006 325i and didn't want to relocate the heated seat buttons to the wood trim so I instead scoured eBay and found a climate control unit off a 2010 e92. I lost the REST feature but now can control both climate zones in the car from the driver's side (which I prefer anyway). It's a direct swap out, no extra wires.

thanks everyone, this was helpful, I guess I will just spin both knobs for the time being as I do use the REST function often in cold weather and find it useful... just surprised the engineers didn't work it in for 08'. thanks again!
