NYS registration falling off

Does anyone notice that NYS vehicle registrations are falling off the windshields?

All of my cars, and everyone I know with NYS registrations issued from last year to now are falling off the windshield due to weak sticker adhesive.

Is it happening to yours?

Uh I removed the old one with a razor blade, cleaned it with windex and got all residue off, applied the new one and applied it and worked the air out of the non-sticky portion out. This was in Nov '08 when it was in the 50-60's.
Same way I do it on all of the cars I have...never a problem til this year....seems like a statewide problem.

A few months later it started to slowly fall off. Got my car inspected in jan/feb and the grey inspection edges has come unattached and only the center part is holding it on.

I never had this problem before in the past with my other cars including this one until this year.

Screw it, it's the state/DMV problem.

I find the NJ DMV more friendly... on the other hand, the NYS DMV acts like they're a courthouse....bastards.

LOL did some research and found out these....the DMV is sure in hot water now over this....

Quote:

"Commissioner David J. Swarts of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today addressed the issue of 2010 inspection stickers and registration stickers that are not adhering to vehicle windshields. The Department became aware of the issue after receiving several complaints from consumers, DMV field offices and inspection stations. It should be noted that only a fraction of stickers have the potential to fail and not all are susceptible to not adhering. DMV is suggesting that customers reaffix any defective sticker to the vehicle with transparent tape or other adhesive."
They're advising people to use clear tape to keep the stickers attached to the windshield, otherwise you can order a no-charge registration sticker replacement at your local DMV office or by calling a call center. If you're requesting a replacement inspection sticker, follow these directions »www.nysdmv.com/vehsafe.htm#replace

NYS DMV to replace non-sticking stickers for free of charge:

Easy as possible? not when you have to get this crap info and send it to them:

Quote:
Send a request for replacement to the DMV, indicate the reason for the replacement, and include either a copy of your inspection receipt OR the following information:

the serial number of the original inspection sticker, if available, and
the year and make of the vehicle, and
the vehicle plate number, and
the odometer reading at the time of the last inspection, and
the date of the last inspection, and
your daytime phone number.

Sticker recall, seriously? Lol, it makes me feel stupid to think of a sticker recall. Failing at the advanced technology of stickers is something only the DMV could pull off. 6 year old girls would do a better job at managing their sticker department.

<3 my front tints. It gives me reason to tape my stickers on my windshield AND have an excuse for it if I get pulled over. While denying I have tints of course.

All my stickers have fallen off since 2007, or started to peel.

Even if you let it sit in the sun and bake and then put it on, when it sits out in the sun again in like 6 months, the glue gets soft and comes apart.

They need to do shit like Jersey does. I dont know what you guys are talkin about, but I never seen a Jersey sticker come apart..
