PS The Blacklines look great (and I ordered the headlight switch for rear-fogs)
I am still getting a bulb warning and all the lights are on and work .... any suggestions? Are the bulbs OK to use that come with the blacklines?

Swap out the bulbs from the original one and fit it on.

I did the outside lights first and then the inner ones.
The removal of the liner took a while but once you know how those
things that hold the liner work, it was a breeze.

Yes, excellent write up. I picked up my 335i today, got the parts from the dealership and put the blacklines in after I washed the car...took me about 40 minutes. They look great. I have a question though, for anyone who can help. On the inner piece, does the very bottom red portion do ANYTHING? I turned on all the lights, had somebody step on the brake, etc. and never saw them light up...nor have I seen them lit up in anybody's pictures on here. Anyone?

Nope...you leave the lining on there. You don't have to completely remove it and set it aside or anything. Just remove the clips and move the lining slightly to the side enough to allow you to access the inner tail light.

Follow Long's DIY and it's super easy. The hardest part is getting to the driver's side upper nut without cutting your hand all up.

Those serve two functions; the adaptive brake lights which come on when you decelerate faster than a certain set tolerance, and they operate as the rear fog lights outside of North America or if you swap your headlight switch for the Euro model with has the extra button.

Thanks for the DYI, longtran. Installed my blacklines tonight--no sweat, and I'm no mechanic. After reading this thread, I was worried about dropping the nuts into the recesses of the car, but that didn't happen. This was a relatively simple, straightforward install. Contrary to longtran's DYI, I actually found the battery (passenger) side slightly more difficult, being right handed. A good socket set w/ *metric* sockets and different length extensions helped. BTW, I used a glass of wine and a cigar instead of a can of squirt. Also, this mod looks so much better live than in pics. Even my GF, who thinks I'm nuts to change anything on my car, commented on how much better the blacklines look. It's like liposuction for the E90's ass!

Looks awesome

My Blacklines just came today, I was going to have the dealer install them but after seeing this I think I might give it a try. Is there risk that this could cause a problem with the dealer regarding warranty?

Great DIY Longtran. I was able to do this under an hour taking my sweet old time. The hardest part was getting the plugs in/out but other than that it's really an easy DIY.

My set was delivered today and got 'em installed in about an hour n' 10 minutes. I'd hafta say the hardest part was figuring out how to pluck those dang plugs out. I was paranoid about breaking them with a flathead screwdriver. So instead, I took a pair of flatnosed pliers, grabbed a hold of the plug and pulled right out with even pressure. Worked a hella lot easier IMO. Just a suggestion for future installations out there. But yea, looks great and well worth it!

Heres a few before/after.

Couldn't find any Squirt so I had to improvise with some PBR

I love how they look... best $235 I've spent on the car!
