Calling All 330i/xi with HID's...

How in the hell did you get it to work?

I've gone through 3 different sets of Canbus, code free, capacitors and all had issues. I've read numerous posts but noticed what works for some may not necessarily work for others and I know our cars are particularly picky when it comes to HID's.

I just want a sure way to install some HID's on my foglights that will not give me any problems.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying to use two cancelers for each HID and coding? Are you absolutely certain this will work? Do I need to purchase a specific brand/model HID?

no, its that some error cancelers dont work. lucky for me my friend had a pair that worked just fine. Without the canceler my fogs would turn off after 10-15 seconds with the car on and throw a CEL. I heard the canceler shouldnt throw codes either. but i had a local (onebadmofo) code my car so it doesnt throw codes.

any hid kit would work fine. dont technically need canbus. mine was ebay 30 dollar hid. with 7 dollar error cancelers.

Was it for a 330 model?

Do you recall what brand/model HID and canceler?

I used a kit from High Performance Bulb part#BMWHIDKIT, had no problems with errors or flickering.

Thanks guys, although we are all E90's research has led me to believe that the 06 year specifically the 330 models had the worst issues attaining a compatible HID that offerred no issues. Hence the title of the post, "Calling all 330i/xi's with HID's". I really want to hear from these owners who have been successful installing HID's on their foglights.

This is the same kit i used in the previous post. No cancelers are anything. You pay for what you get.

bought the kit from hpb and did not work on my 07 e90 335i,it kept shutting off after a few seconds...went n coded the car and still same results but less frequently.
took m out n put them on my 328xi lci and they work perfect no coding needed nothing.
I think 06 and 07 models r very sensitive to hid fogs and r very hard to make m work

Hey toicy4ya,

Can you list the 3 different kits you have already tried?
I am also interested in getting a kit that works without errors/issues.

2006 325i

Some kits already put a warning on their page "stating that 2006-2007" E90 models *may not work??? WTF???

Here are the 3 models I have looked at, but I don't want to start buying just to test them. They are all from "Support Vendors"

The reviews you mentioned in that post are from users who are not driving 2006 model E90's...

The question is: Will 2006 model year E90's, both the 325i and 330i throw any errors, etc? e.g., have they been tested to being working?

Thanks.

I would expand that to 325i's as well. The 06 is the least friendly by a LONG shot.

I still have errors. I have done all coding required, tried error cancellors. I'm just choosing to live with it at this point. I run through my check control every few days to make sure nothing new is coming up, since it shows "red car on lift"

I disabled bulb testing though so it doesn't beep at me. I'd go nuts if it beeped still.

our, kit will work and you will have no error, if you do I will issue a full refund as soon as we get the unit back. But I know this will not be the case.

Thanks for getting back. I understand at a minimum you would give a refund to your customers. But I think I will avoid the hassle for now until someone can confirm an exact brand/model number that will work with our 2006 E90 325i/330i cars.

I live in Canada, so buying anything from the USA gives us even more grief with customs.

I just want a kit that works 100% and has been tested by the manufacturer/seller. Better yet, confirmed by someone on the forum...

Hopefully others would agree on here.

+2

I've had my fair share of "guarantees" yet I still have a low beam failure error, so I'm done bothering, until I see specific to 2006 model success.
