I've been searching for a 328 for the past month and figured for the same price and mileage I could get a 2008 528xi. Same engine but the 5 series comes with extra features and iDrive and real leather seats with comfort access. Don't really need the extra room but thinking better bang for the buck.
Thoughts?

Sure the 5 series is more 'luxurious' but if you're on a tight budget i'd go with the 328 just because you better have a lot of money put aside on maintenance for the 5 series. Just my opinion. Call me bias Best of luck

Had a E60 528i in the family for a few years. Car was trouble free and never had any issues and the new owner has never had any issues either. A great solid car.

The E60 528xi vs E90 328xi the E60 wins hands down. Much better quality and has iDrive and better seats like you have said.

haven't driven the 528xi yet but is the handling different? I imagine the extra weight could affect the mileage but not that noticeable.
Will report back after the comparison.
